In creating this body gel, I thought of my children as infants and how soft and silky their skin felt. As an herbalist I know that Irish moss is a mucilaginous herb. This means it is soft and soothing. One day I left some moss in a pan with distilled water and went on to other things—when I came back, the consistency was gel-like.

I proceeded to use my knowledge of other ingredients to supplement this base, and here it is: Irish moss along is high in zinc, vitamin A, magnesium and a host of other goodies. Vegetable glycerin is a super-emollient and is know as a humectant (a substance that promotes moisture retention). So I play and mixed and mixed and played until I was happy with the outcome. This is a great shower gel that feels and smells great! I recommend applying and rinsing in the shower to really retain the moisture. Works great for sunburns.
