Dawyn-Cloud Alter has always been close to nature. For years she has grown plants and herbs and prepared herbal remedies.

Dawyn is a member of the Connecticut Holistic Guild, and founded the Connecticut Chapter of the American Herbalist Guild. She earned her Certificate in Family Herbalism from the Clayton College of Natural Health. Dawyn lectures around the Northeast and is an adjunct faculty member at Western Connecticut State University where she teaches herbology.

In addition, Dawyn has been a marriage and family therapist for fifteen years. She has a bachelor’s degree in Human Services from New Hampshire College, and a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Bridgeport.

Dawyn has been published on botanical.com and other herb-related websites. At present she is writing her first book, Medicine Beneath Your Feet-Herbs of the Northeast.

Dawyn lives in Connecticut with her husband and their three children. She has a passion for the human spirit and its potential.
